Tour Details

Entertain the mountain peak climbing without climbing permit on Yala Peak (5520m) close to Kathmandu with a great introduction to mountaineering having nominal technical difficulties and enjoyably easy trek in Langtang valley.

Yala Peak (5520m) is a great introduction to mountaineering in the Himalayas with only minimal technical difficulties and includes an enjoyable trek the Yala Peak Trekking. The Yala Peak is located in the popular Langtang valley trekking area, the central section of the Nepalese Himalayas, just north of Kathmandu. It is a great addition to trekking in the region as Yala Peak does not require mountaineering experience and NMA peak climbing permit; a good level of physical fitness is sufficient for Yala Peak Climbing.

The mountain Yala itself is located just at the border between Nepal and Tibet. The summit offers superb views of snow-covered mountains in Nepal and Tibet like Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Naya Kanga, Gangchempo and the famous 8000m peak Shishapangma.

To reach Yala Peak Climbing, we leave Kathmandu and drive to Syabrubesi, and then trek up the valley for four to five days up to Base Camp. Kyanjin Gompa(3800m) is situated at the foot of the impressive Langtang Lirung (7246m) and we spend an extra day acclimatizing, taking day-hikes in spectacular surroundings. We explore the Langshisha glacier and then establish a high camp at 4800m from where we make our summit bid for Yala Peak. After summiting Yala Peak, we either return directly to Syabrubesi or continue trekking to Helambu via the Gosainkunda pass. Another possibility is to cross the Langtang Ganja La pass. There are plenty of options and we’d be happy to advise you and compile the right package for you.

Traveltimes Treks team offers you a full board package including all necessary trekking and camping logistics from arrival in Kathmandu up to your departure. We organize your accommodation in Kathmandu as well as throughout your trek. Our cook freshly prepares nutritious meals throughout the climbing period and experienced and professional trekking and climbing guides accompany you on the trek as well as on the Yala Peak Climbing. In addition, we can organize any sightseeing in and around Kathmandu for you.

The package of Yala Peak Climbing can easily be adjusted to your requirements for customizing. Thus feel free to contact us at any time for suggestions and advice. We’d be happy to take you on this adventure.
