Reference to the authority given by the 15th meeting of Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation regarding formulation of Visitor's Protocol on Travelling to Nepal, the Ministry has made the following decisions.
1. VISA ON ARRIVAL
The Visa-On-Arrival service shall resume from all air and land entry points to Nepal.
2. PCR REPORT
All travelers flying into Nepal must obtain a COVID-19 Negative Report (RT-PCR/Gene Xpert/True NAAT or equivalent) within 96 hours prior to their departure from first point of embarkation to Nepal. Children below 5 years are exempted of submitting such report.
3. PCR RE-TEST
All travelers flying into Nepal except Indian Nationals will need to retake a PCR test upon arrival to Nepal. The Swab Collection for the required passengers will be done at Tribhuvan International Airport and the PCR Report will be sent via sms/email within 24 hrs. Passengers with Positive PCR result will be required to stay in quarantine as per the health protocol guidelines.
4. NEPAL-INDIA TRAVEL BUBBLE
Nepal-India Travel Bubble, agreement clauses will be applicable for all Indian Nationals travelling to Nepal.
5. ENTRY THROUGH LAND BOARDERS
The entry/exist points at the land boarders will be opened. All travelers including Indian and Foreign nationals coming via private and tourism vehicles through boarders will be allowed. Such visitors must have COVID-19 Negative Report (RT-PCR/Gene Xpert/True NAAT or equivalent) within 96 hours of their departure.
6. PCR RE-TEST
All travelers entering Nepal through land except Indian Nationals will need to retake a PCR test upon arrival to Nepal. The Swab Collection for the required passengers will be done at the entry points and the PCR Report will be sent via SMS/email within 24 hours. Passengers with positive PCR result will be required to stay in quarantine as per the health protocol guidelines.
7. ABOUT VACINATION CERTIFICATE
For travelers who are already vaccinated, they are required to show the COVID19 Vaccination Certificate at the entry points. Such travelers will not need to retake the PCR test in Nepal and will not have to stay in quarantine.
8. TOURISM ACTIVITIES RESUMED
All tourism destinations and tourism activities (hotel, restaurant, spa, rafting and night entertainment activities) will be operated following the prescribed guidelines and Health, Hygiene, Sanitation Protocol.
9. COVID CARE CENTERS
To further facilitate tourists, hotels and hospitals can coordinate together and operate COVID Care Centers if felt necessary.
10. TRAVEL INSURANCE
All passengers entering Nepal must have Travel Insurance.
11. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED OBTAINING VISA ON ARRIVAL FOR TOURISTS
*Arrival date to Nepal
*For Trekking purpose a valid trekking itinerary from registered Trekking agency in Nepal. For group Travelers all other conditions remain as it is.
*For Travel/Tour/Rafting, itinerary prepared by registered Travel/Tour/Rafting agency.
*For Free Individual traveler, a confirmed hotel booking is required. Regarding FIT trekking purpose, a valid trekking itinerary, booking and guide/porter confirmation from registered trekking agency.
12. REGARDING TOURIST VISA
Upon submission of the above documents, the Immigration Office to provide the Visa directly to the concerned.
