This tour brings you to Nepal, homeland of the mighty Himalaya and rich Buddhist and Hindu cultures. Before heading to Pokhara, we immerse ourselves 2 days in the colorful and bustling bazars and sights of Kathmandu. We roam around the Durbar Squares which are enchanted with exquisite Buddhist and Hindu shrines and visit the Buddhist enclaves of Bouddhanath and the cremation ghats of the Shiva Temple at Pasupatinath. After a scenic bus drive on which we traverse green lush hillsides and roaring rivers we reach Pokhara, situated 200 km west of Kathmandu.
Pokhara Valley is a heaven on earth with striking lakes offering dramatic views over the 7 000 and 8 000 m high Himalaya peaks like Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Manaslu and Annapurna. During a 3 day long tea house trek (level easy-medium with max 4,5 h walking p/day where you only carry your day pack and which is suitable for anyone in good shape) our guide takes you to beautiful Gurung settlements surrounding the Annapurna. Here you enjoy spectacular close up mountain views, lots of couleur locale and refreshment in steaming hot springs. After our short but rewarding trek you enjoy 2 days leisure and adventure in Pokhara including sightseeing, paragliding, biking and boating. Attending these activities, you once more enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes and the atmosphere of Nepali villages and Pokhara environments.
On the morning, flying back to Kathmandu, we make an exceptional tandem paragliding flight over the Phewa Lake and the Himalaya mountains. Flying in this environment, accompanied with eagles, will be a once in a lifetime experience.
